The purpose behind the Kent Institute is simple -- to offer people the opportunity to discover a new way of thinking about, and training in, martial art. Studying martial art isn’t about enrolling in a class and simply turning up and going through the motions. One of the primary goals at our facility is to create an environment where the students become motivated to actively and enthusiastically participate in their own development and do so to the best of their ability.

We are a “no compromise,” professional martial art training facility offering group classes, semi-private and private training. All of our classes are “closed-door” training sessions which are not open to non-members. Walk-in enquiries are not permitted during classes. This ensures maximum attention is given to the students without any distractions or interruptions.

We are selective of our students. We want to be sure our facility is correct for them, and that they are a good fit for our facility. We’re not interested in having people join and then quit after a month or two, or burn out and not come back. Many of our students have been training for years. Why? The answer is simple. Because they enjoy it so much, as well as feel it’s beneficial and enriches their life. They’re not interested in wearing exotic uniforms or getting different colored belts or sashes, etc. They’re interested in personal growth.

Due to limited enrollment we require potential students to make an appointment to meet with the school’s Director in order to discuss training. Observation of training is allowed after a potential student has met with the school’s Director, or with the Director’s prior approval.

We are an adult training facility that offers a children’s program, not the other way around.
